This photo was taken from a copy Ted has. Not sure who's who. Can anyone help?
Is Martha the girl in the middle at the back standing up?

Martha Johnson (nee Dowling) had a large family which has grown and spread across the world. This family is now in it's fourth generation and all her descendants are invited to post family news and photos, new or old. This blog could help keep our big scattered family a little closer.
Yes it would be great to know all about this photo. I would love to know about Martha's life, where was she born-dates etc. I know there is an Irish background ???
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have found Grandma's Father was John H Dowling and her mother Bridget Mary Kelly. Mary Kelly came from Waterford Ireland. John lived until 1956 aged 96. Uncle Ted and my Mum say he was always called Gentleman John becasue he was smartly dressed and a charmer. His father was James Dowling and he married Sara Lund. They had 7 children together and Sarah already had 2 children before they met. John H (Grandma's Dad) was Sara's youngest child she had at aged 39. I'm trying to find some free family tree software so I can transfer what we found on ancestry.co.uk onto something that can be linked to our site. Fascinating isn't it!!
ReplyDeleteIf Grandma is on this photo, then Auntie Wynn and Uncle Bob should be too. Uncle Bob never married and lived with Auntie Wynn and her husband (also Bob) at 21 Marmian Way, Litherland. Our Mike and Helen bought the house. There used to be a bomb shelter in the back yard.
