
Early next year [2011] a 2 part drama written by Alan Bleasdale will be shown on tv, I think it may be on channel 4. There will also be a documentary shown which Ted will be talking about his experience, as it became known as The Laconia Incident.
Last month a film crew from talkback thames came up to dads house to film him talking about his experiences at that time. when I get any information as to a positive date I will post it on this blog.
Ray this is absolutely fabulous about Uncle Ted & so interesting I,m sure for all the family to see.The Laconia Incident Book was a real good read & I bought about 2-3 copies & sent one to my sister Susan who lives in N.Carolina.As a Merchant Navy man myself for 30 years I can relate to your dad & have done in the past where we have had good old natters about various ships.I remember in the 1970's i
ReplyDeleterang U.Ted & told him that my ship was loading in Birkenhead Docks for East Africa & would he like to come aboard for Sunday Lunch to whic h he replied yes.He came on board & had a great time,he had a drink in the Captains room & we laughed about ships & seafarers.!!!!!! So Ray keep up the good work of re-introducing us all to our cousins the " Johnson Boys 1 Girl " with whom we had all lost contact over the years. All the Best : Gerry
