Well hello everyone, my name is Nicola and I am Martha's great, great granddaughter.  My nan is Eileen Taylor daughter of Martha Elizabeth Ida Johnson (known as Ida)...Me and my nan are so pleased to have come across this page as we have been doing our family tree on ancestry and we found Derek (Marjorie's son in the USA), it was him that told me of this page.  Although we live in Liverpool their has been no contact with the family for many years.  My nan's sister Mavis died at only 15 from leukemia leaving my nan as an only child.
She went on to marry my Granddad Stan Gilroy and have four girls but Karen  their second girl born sadly died at only one years of age. My mum Norma Ida is her oldest and I am Eileen's oldest granddaughter, I also have a brother called Josh(22) and a little girl called Molly who is 11.  Molly has downs syndrome but is in perfect health and is a little madame. My aunty Julie and aunty Lynn are nan Eileen's other two daughters.  Lynn has no kids but Julie has a girl called Hayley(25) and a boy called shaun(17).

Me and my mum live in Formby but my nan Eileen and the rest all live in Maghull.  My nan has been reminiscing today looking at all the pictures on here and has wrote a few memories down that she wants me to put on here to see if others remember.  I will also get any pictures I have on here soon as possible.

Hope to hear from you all soon

Nicola x

  5. Hi Nicola,
I'm Susan, second child of Dolly, Ida's sister and am thrilled that you have contacted the family. We always wondered what happened to Eileen.....thanks so much for reconnecting. Tell her that I remember her well and remember that once when I visited we listened to a record that she had by Guy Mitchel singing 'Singing the Blues'. She was a teenager then and I was just a kid....so thought she was the best!!

I live in North Carolina but my sisters, Veronica and Sally and brothers, Gerald and Michael all live in the UK. Sally has a house in Formby, Ron in Aughton, Gerald in Ormskirk and Michael in Waterloo.

When my sister Sally was born (1957) I stayed several days with Auntie Ida and Uncle Bill. They used to take me on vacation with them in a caravan to Wales.

I have two daughters, Jennifer and Alison. Jenn is married to Sean Kirk and they have two children (my grandchildren) Molly (coincidence) an Liam. We just found out that a third is on the way and is due in September. They all live in New Jersey which is a 7 hour drive from here.

We are planning a trip to England for the week of May 20th and would be terrific if we could get together with Eileen. We're only staying the week and then we're off to Spain.

You have no idea how many cousins, second-cousins, etc. you have.....our family is huge and this is such a great site to keep in touch -- thanks to cousin Kate!

Hope to hear from you again soon
    Susan
